Domain Names Up For Grabs

Perhaps you thought it was unlikely that www.ilikedungeonsanddragons.com  was considered a hot domain name. After all, you did come up with it. It’s completely unique. How many DnD players are left anyway? Your Wednesday night game is but a small clan of the precious few left. So you and your gaming buddies come up with a great idea to launch your very own Web site, hop online to purchase the domain for your group, only to find out that your endeavors have been thwarted.

You are denied the purchase of www.ilikedungeonsanddragons.com because another group in Saskatchewan was way ahead of you and nabbed it quicker than you can say aarakocra.

But what if the group in Saskatchewan had second thoughts about the URL and decided they wanted something entirely different? Perhaps they have moved onto the world sci-fi and felt the need to launch a site dedicated to Star Wars fans and have moved their dice from lost realms to outer space?

A2LD (not to be confused with R2D2) has launched a new a venue for buying and selling domain names and developed websites. Registered members can now list their domain names for sale, as well as place bids on other listed items.

Users communicate via a Private Message Board (PMB) throughout the negotiation process. Once both parties are in agreement with all aspects of sale, the Seller must accept the buyer's bid and the buyer must agree to the purchase. A2LD also offers a "safe transfer," an optional escrow service at the point-of-sale, enabling the seller to verify that the funds will be available to him once re-registration of the domain has. The buyer can then release the funds to the seller via his account manager. In the event a seller does not complete the transfer within the specified closing date, the buyer is then entitled to a complete refund.

There is also no fee for listing domains for sale, only a small, 3% closing fee at auctions close. If the listing does not sell, no worries. There will be no fees.
