The Boston Globe's Big Help Returns on January 13 with New Career Opportunities and Advice for Job Seekers

BOSTON --(Business Wire)-- Does finding a new job top your list of New Year's Resolutions? On Sunday, January 13, The Boston Globe and Boston.com/Monster, one of Boston's leading recruitment services providers, will kick off The Big Help, a week-long event featuring new career opportunities, online events and advice for jobseekers in Greater Boston.



The semi-annual Big Help will begin with a print pull-out section in The Boston Globe featuring career opportunities from greater Boston's top employers. The Sunday, January 13, Big Help section will feature one of the most comprehensive collections of jobs in Boston and will be printed in a tabloid format for greater readability and ease of use.

The event will continue throughout the week with online activities designed to provide jobseekers with important insights about career directions and decisions. From January 14-16, Boston.com/Monster, the online partner of The Boston Globe's Careers section, will feature online chats, photo galleries, message boards and the area's largest number of local job listings.



Leading up to The Big Help, jobseekers are encouraged to submit updated resumes to the Boston.com/Monster resume database, allowing local employers to find candidates that best meet the requirements of their openings.

The Big Help provides local jobseekers with a comprehensive resource for finding valuable career information and job opportunities," said Jason Kissell, executive director of classified advertising at The Boston Globe. The Careers section of the Sunday Boston Globe will feature the greatest number of jobs in Boston from the area's leading companies, including Genzyme, City of Cambridge, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Akamai Technologies, among many others.

-- Monday January 14 - Money & Happiness - Greg LoPiccolo of Harmonix

After a decade-long run as bassist/songwriter with the Boston-based band, Tribe, Greg LoPiccolo parlayed his passion for music into a creative career with Harmonix, a company specializing in music-based games. On Monday, January 14 at 1:00 p.m., Mr. LoPiccolo will host an online chat on Boston.com/Monster, focusing on what it takes to follow a dream and make it reality.

-- Tuesday, January 15 - Compensation - Bill Coleman of Salary.com

Hoping to make more money in 2008? Wondering how to negotiate up? On Tuesday, January 15 at 1:00 p.m., Bill Coleman, head of Salary.com's compensation team, will host a chat on salary negotiations and how to ask for what you deserve.
