BroadSoft, Evoxus Deliver VoIP in the UK
TMCnet VoIP Minute Watch Columnist
VoIP service provider BroadSoft Inc. has joined forces with telecom company Evoxus of Reading, Berkshire, to launch services for the enterprise market in the UK over the BroadWorks VoIP application platform.
Evoxus offers bundled voice and data applications to enterprises within the retail, financial services and travel industries. With the BroadWorks platform in place, Evoxus will be able to integrate voice, data, video and business applications at the desktop for business clients. The new system will also enable enterprise administrators to control calling features for an entire department or a specific individual through the Web based portal, and add, change or move users quickly.
"Rather than being a slave to the phone, the phone becomes slave to the employee," said Mark Lower, Evoxus' chief executive officer. "With BroadSoft's VoIP application software, we are able to take an enterprise into the new world of IP, by making IP telephony work within their current environment. The flexibility of the BroadWorks platform makes that possible."
BroadSoft's IMS-compliant BroadWorks VoIP application platform provides a set of applications, including hosted PBX, IP Centrex, mobile PBX, business trunking and residential broadband services integrated into a single VoIP application platform.
InTechnology, based in Harrogate, United Kingdom, acted as the system integrator for Evoxus' deployment of the BroadWorks VoIP application platform.
BroadSoft made news last month when it was tapped by IP and Internet systems provider Cohere Communications of New York City to launch Broad Exchange Services (BxS), a VoIP service for the multi-site small and medium enterprise market. Cohere chose the BroadWorks VoIP application platform to launch the new VoIP offering. Cohere also expanded its BxS service offerings beyond the northeastern region of the United States to deliver services nationwide.
"Our customers' success is the number one priority for us," said BroadSoft's chief executive officer Michael Tessler back then. "Cohere Communications has grown carefully into a stand-alone VoIP service provider, increasing both the depth and breadth of services they provide to SME and wholesale customers across the United States. Their focus on support and security, coupled with the processes they've put into place, allows Cohere Communications to deliver the highest quality VoIP services to their customer base."
