Mitsubishi to Deliver VoIP with CloudShield in Japan

TMCnet Contributing Editor

CloudShield Technologies announced on Tuesday that it joined forces with Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) to deliver CloudShield’s Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) mitigation, VoIP and Content Service Control systems to Japanese carriers and service providers.

The new agreement calls for MC to distribute and support the entire suite of CloudShield products and services in Japan. MC will also open a Customer Showcase Center in Tokyo to demo these products and services built on CloudShield platforms.

“After reviewing multiple IP service control technologies, none provided the performance scalability, application flexibility, connectivity options and integrated security functions that CloudShield offers,” said Masatoshi Oshima, general manager, Business Solution Unit at MC, in a statement.

Oshima continued: “As development and adoption of advanced IP services accelerate, today's carriers are demanding solutions that meet current service control requirements as well as future requirements. CloudShield's multi-use, multi-function systems, solutions and tools ensure that customers' needs can be met today and into the future. Its solutions and technology will be a great addition to our information communications offering, meeting the high-quality requirements associated with Mitsubishi Corporation.”

CloudShield’s product suite is currently available through MC in Japan. CloudShield systems are currently being deployed by network service providers in North America, Europe and Japan.

“Partnering with Mitsubishi Corporation provides CloudShield with a strong presence in Japan. Mitsubishi Corporation's credible track record in introducing next-generation solutions for the communications market is consistent with CloudShield's expectations of its partners,” said Matt Jones, CEO of CloudShield.

Jones added: “This partnership, CloudShield's first in Asia, is part of our strategy to extend our product offering into new markets where service providers and carriers are moving to converged IP network services. We are excited to be teaming with Mitsubishi Corporation, a leader in this space, to address its customers’ VoIP and content services control and security needs.”

CloudShield made news back in March when it announced a reselling partnership with GTEN AG, a provider of Lawful Intercept technologies and services, to deliver services on CloudShield's advanced high-speed network content control systems in parts of Europe and in the Middle East.

Under the agreement, GTEN will offer GTEN branded applications on the CloudShield CS-2000. GTEN will also expand its current solution offering and resell CloudShield’s VoIP management, distributed denial-of service (DDoS) mitigation, and Peer-to-Peer application control solutions. The entire suite of services will be available from GTEN in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Middle East.
