Workstream Delivers On-Demand Benefits Solution to Reduce Costs and Improve User Experience

TMCnet Contributing Editor

Workstream, an On-Demand Enterprise Workforce Management software provider, has announced the general availability of Workstream Benefits Enrollment 6.0. The web-based benefit enrollment and administration application is positioned to improve the way in which benefits are delivered.

The Workstream Benefits Enrollment 6.0 is accessible as a standalone solution or in conjunction with other Workstream TalentCenter suite applications like Workstream Communicator and Total Rewards Statements. In an effort to reduce employer benefit costs whole also improving delivery of benefits, the Workstream Benefits Enrollment solution providers employees and administrators with the ability to efficiently view and make changes to employee benefits online.

Michael Mullarkey, CEO and Chairman at Workstream noted that these enhancements to the Benefit enrollment applications represent the latest example of Workstream’s continuous commitment to making investments and improvements in its products. Combined with other benefit related applications, such as Workstream Communicator and Workstream Total Rewards Statement, companies are able to deliver a very broad and deep capability to their employees, benefits administrators and call center representatives.

Employees and administrators can use Workstream Benefits Enrollment 6.0 to view and update company employee benefit programs. Power users will also have the ability to make administrative and configuration changes to the system through a non-technical administrative interface.

The 6.0 release significantly enhances the administrative and eligibility engine areas of the application. Some key features of Workstream Benefits Enrollment 6.0 include:

  • Benefit Administration Override Capability which enables administrative users to override system setting in an effort to accommodate exceptions and unique cases the need to be addressed.
  • Benefit Administration Rate Update Capability provides administrators the power to adjust benefit rates through the same non-technical interface that they use to make other system changes.
  • Enrollment History View makes tracking and communicating of historical data possible for administrators as they are able to view, on one page, a history of enrollment changes.
  • Eligibility Engine Enhancements offer additional support for geographic and tenure based benefit eligibility rules.

There are few things in life more complicated to understand than employment benefits. Easily compared to the complexity of programming a VCR in its prime, dissecting benefits and rules and changes can be perplexing, leaving employees with many questions that need to be answered. This can generate significant traffic for the benefits call center.

Workstream does well in positioning its On-Demand offering to appeal to not only the ‘customer’ or employee, but also the administrator or ‘company.’ The customer is constantly seeking information and the company is constantly seeking ways to reduce the cost of offering benefits to its employees. As benefits are still a key factor in competitive situations when seeking qualified employees, companies will benefit from investments in solutions that cater to the employee as well as the bottom line.
