 TMCnet Contributing Editor
Dow Jones has announced details of its plans to enhance Factiva SalesWorks for salesforce.com's AppExchange to use features now available in Salesforce Winter '07.
Salesforce.com (News - Alert) customers will be able to get "a sales intelligence tool that includes improved navigation and the ability to produce company and executive lists for prospecting and upselling of accounts," according to DJ officials. The updated version of Factiva SalesWorks for AppExchange will be available in March 2007.
Factiva SalesWorks enhancements for salesforce.com's AppExchange allow users to generate lists of company or executive leads from within the Salesforce interface. Companies can be filtered by location, industry or company ownership, and executive information can be sorted by job title, company location and industry.
Additionally, users have access to the latest news, financial report or stock price that can be surfaced within an account or prospect record.
Factiva SalesWorks provides content from news providers such as Dow Jones and Reuters and business information from Reuters Fundamentals, D&B, Datamonitor, ZoomInfo, Hemscott, Standard & Poor's, Mergent, Investext, Thomson Financial, Jobson's, Marquis Who's Who, Freedonia, IBISWorld Business Information, MarketResearch.com, and others.
This past summer Factiva, a Dow Jones and Reuters Company, introduced Factiva SalesWorks for Microsoft (News - Alert) Dynamics CRM 3.0 for Microsoft Certified Partners participating in the Factiva Partner Program. Factiva SalesWorks is a global collection of company, industry and executive news and information.
Directly from within Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0, the product lets users view a snapshot of a particular company or executive, allowing them to identify and qualify prospects. Factiva SalesWorks can also be integrated into such environments such as Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003, Windows SharePoint Services, Office Outlook 2003 and Office Word 2003.
Factiva has developed more than 15 Factiva SalesWorks components for Microsoft SharePoint Products and Technologies that facilitate the delivery of content in context. It's integrated with Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 as a way for salespeople to "find and understand information critical to the sales process," said Greg Gerdy, vice president of channel marketing, Factiva: "As a result, salespeople spend less time looking for data."
Earlier in the summer Factiva announced enhancements to Search 2.0, where users can create their own Search 2.0 "home page" on the initial search screen, enabling them to select what news to display and where to display it.
When they first visit Factiva Search 2.0, users find the initial search screen automatically populated with news from one of 13 global regions, as detected and defined by the user's browser language and/or IP address. Users can then further customize their homepage by adding, deleting, or moving content around the screen in order to create their ideal homepage.
