Gore Mutual Insurance Selects Symbility for Mobile Claims

By DAVID R. BUTCHER, Assistant Editor, Customer Interaction Solutions

Symbility Solutions Inc., a developer of a mobile claims system for residential and commercial property claims estimation, today announced it has reached a five-year agreement with Gore Mutual Insurance Company to adopt and roll out the Symbility mobile claims system for its property claims across Canada. The new system will be rolled out through September and will be taken total advantage of at the beginning of October.

Available for tablet PCs and pocket PCs with integrated Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPRS/1X wireless technology, the Symbility Solutions system allows adjusters and contractors to more accurately and more quickly write and process claims while on site. Symbility’s “mobile, wireless, on-site, pen-based system” allows claims adjusters and contractors to process claims at an average of six times faster than when using traditional processing systems.

Following the completion of the company’s five-month pilot program with Symbility, Gore Mutual will have all field adjustors across the company processing property claims through the system by October 1, 2005.

The pilot program was designed to verify the following: the software’s ease of use by adjusting staff; ease of transmitting estimate information between contractors and adjustors; efficiency of storing and retrieving estimate data; extent of business intelligence capabilities for comparative and trend analysis; and expense reduction and overall return on investment (ROI) in the software technology. Gore Mutual’s pilot program was conducted in its Ontario region.

Symbility Solutions is a wholly owned subsidiary of Automated Benefits Corp., a software company that develops applications for the insurance industry. For more information, visit www.autoben.com and www.symbilitysolutions.com.
