IT EXPO News: VPN de Mexico Picks Netcentrex to Deliver VoIP

TMCnet VoIP Minute Watch Columnist

Voice and video systems provider Netcentrex announced on Wednesday it was tapped by VPN de Mexico, a Mexican VoIP service provider, in order to deploy Netcentrex' MyCall to deliver VoIP residential and enterprise services to 25 cities throughout the Mexican country. Netcentrex is currently showing a demo of the MyCall VoIP Services Suite in booth #618 at the Internet Telephony Conference & EXPO this week at the Los Angeles Convention Center in California.

The new service will include caller ID, call waiting, caller ID blocking, voicemail, fax, three-way calling, and subscriber features access from any Internet connection through an automated provisioning system provided by Netcentrex. VPN de Mexico will also offer telephony-based legal and medical advisory services for subscribers of its VOXIP offering.

"The Peralta family created the first mobile carrier in Mexico with IUSACELL and now we are continuing the family tradition by offering the first VSNO-based VoIP service with coverage over 25 cities throughout Mexico and with services that will continue to make us leaders in this market," noted Pablo Peralta, CEO of VPN de Mexico.

Thanks to its partnership with Netcentrex, VPN de Mexico will use MyCall to deliver telephone services to its residential and enterprise subscribers via DSL. VPN De Mexico is also currently testing Voice over Satellite and Voice over Powerline communications using the same platform.

"Offering VoIP to the Mexican market is only Phase 1," continued Peralta. "We are now entering Phase 2 which involves offering Mexico-based DIDs to Mexicans based in the US in order to capture a portion of the 1.5 billion minutes on calls from the United States to Mexico annually by the 27 million Mexicans living in the US. We are the first company to offer VoIP to a niche market in the US and this is all part of our US-based VOXmex offering."

Netcentrex made news earlier this month when it joined Highdeal, a pricing, rating and billing provider for IP-based systems, to announce they scored deals in Europe from Portus, Parla.it and AOL Germany. Portus, Parla.it and AOL Germany chose the joint Highdeal/NetCentrex system in order to deliver IP telephony services.

Portus will be delivering hosted enterprise and residential IP telephony services by using the NetCentrex Business Services and the Highdeal Transactive for pricing, rating and billing. Parla.it launched the Highdeal/NetCentrex system in order to offer residential IP services to Italian customers.

AOL Germany picked the Highdeal/NetCentrex system to power the launch of AOL Phone, its new residential VoIP-based telephone service. AOL's IP telephony services are based on MyCall from NetCentrex combined with the rating engine from Highdeal Transactive, which was integrated into the existing billing system.

If you are at IT EXPO this week, don't forget to stop by booth #618 to meet the guys from Netcentrex and see demos of the company's products and services!
