Lingo Lowers International VoIP Plan Pricing

TMCnet VoIP Minute Watch Columnist

VoIP service provider Lingo Inc. announced on Thursday it lowered the pricing for its unlimited international VoIP calling plans. Lingo's unlimited international VoIP phone service plan charges have been reduced, up to 37 percent, to $49.95 monthly for residential customers and $69.95 monthly for small business customers.

With the Linglo Unlimited International VoIP phone service plans, international callers are able to use their broadband connections to make unlimited phone calls in the U.S., Puerto Rico and to Canada.

"International callers are migrating in droves to VoIP phone technology to benefit from huge savings over legacy phone companies," said Doug Weeks, vice president and general manager for Lingo. "Our Unlimited International calling plans naturally includes unlimited domestic and local calls as well."

Lingo's Unlimited International calling plans include local and long distance calling anywhere in the United States and to destinations in 36 countries, including Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, China, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico City, Guadalajara, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Puerto Rico, Poland, Portugal, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Vatican City.

The Unlimited International VoIP calling plans are part of other Lingo VoIP phone service designed for residential and small businesses, starting at $7.95 and available free for the first month.

Lingo made news last month when it tapped Intrado Inc. in order to offer its V9-1-1 Mobility Service to many of Lingo's VoIP subscribers. The move will help Lingo comply with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)'s rules that require VoIP service providers to provide E9-1-1 to subscribers by the end of this month.

"Intrado is eager to support Lingo's expanded E9-1-1 capabilities," said Stephen Meer, Intrado CTO and co-founder last month. "As companies like Lingo deploy these effective emergency calling technologies, the industry will continue to see increasing adoption rates by both residential and enterprise users."
