Puerto Rico Residents to Enjoy VoIP Benefits from VoX
Associate Editor
VoX Communications Corp., a wholesale and retail provider of Voice over IP (VoIP) services across the United States, will begin offering broadband phone service to customers in Puerto Rico starting on May 1st.
In conjunction, VoX also will allow its U.S. customers to add a Puerto Rico telephone number to any U.S.-based VoX plan for an additional $4.95 per month. This will allow friends and family living in Puerto Rico to call on a local number rather than a long distance number, thus providing a substantial cost savings.
“Many broadband telephone plans include free calls to Puerto Rico, but not many enable customers to choose a Puerto Rico telephone number so that friends and family members can reach them by dialing a local number from Puerto Rico,” said Ron Harden, VoX Communications' executive vice president of sales and marketing.
VoX plans to offer Puerto Rico residents the same plans available to U.S. residents.
- Basic service includes 200 minutes of calling for just $9.95;
- The VoX Unlimited plan allows customers to talk all they want throughout the U.S. and Canada, as well as Puerto Rico, for $29.95;
- Additional plans with various usage options;
- All plans include advanced features, such as voicemail, three-way calling, caller ID blocking, basic 911, and enhanced 911 where available;
- VoX’s low international rates;
- WiFi (News - Alert) connectivity;
- The service will be sold online and will also be available through major U.S. retailers with stores in Puerto Rico.
The addition of Puerto Rico is another step forward as VoX expands its footprint. It also enables residents in Puerto Rico to enjoy the cost savings and features VoIP enables while simplifying communications with family members on the U.S. mainland.
“With our increasing reach, we can offer more customers more savings while providing them with the most reliable, highest quality broadband phone service available today,” added Mark Richards, president and CIO of VoX Communications.
