Really Simple Systems Integrates with Google Calendar

TMCnet Contributing Editor

Really Simple Systems has announced built-in support for Google’s new web based calendar product. Users can now automatically add tasks and appointments to their Google (News - Alert) calendar with a click of a mouse, directly from Really Simple Systems.

The link between Really Simple Systems and Google Calendar uses industry standard iCal technology. The company has plans for broadening the interface to link to other iCal based web calendars such as Mozilla FireFox and Apple (News - Alert)’s iCalendar.

“This new release allows users to share their calendars with any other Google Calendar user, not just those of our subscribers,” said Really Simple Systems’ CEO John Paterson in a
press release. “Small companies want to share calendars over the web but don't want the complexity doing that with Microsoft (News - Alert) Outlook.”

“Many smaller companies don't have, or can't afford, the sort of infrastructure that allows the functionality they need,” commented Nick Hewson, managing director of
Hewson Group, a CRM analyst firm in Europe. “Really Simple Systems have demonstrated with its link to Google's calendar that a low cost alternative is viable.”
