Furthering its presence in international markets, packet-based solutions provider Verso Technologies announced on Thursday that Aeronautical Radio of Thailand selected Verso’s bandwidth optimization solution to support Thailand’s nationwide air traffic control system.

Verso’s NetPerformer solution, distributed through Verso partner, Comnet, will be used to provide air traffic control-related communication between two Thailand airports and the Aerothai headquarters located in Bangkok.

“Our selection highlights our ability to deliver superior value to our customers and partners in this region and we foresee additional opportunities in Thailand through our partner, Comnet,” said Verso CEO Monty Bannerman in a prepared statement.

The solution, according to a Verso statement, optimizes network bandwidth, re-routes voice traffic around link failures and ensures quality of service.

NetPerformer’s reliability over low-speed connections – a vital consideration for the air traffic control industry - was a major reason why it was selected by Aerothai.

“The selection by Aerothai is evidence that NetPerformer is among the most reliable products on the market today,” said Lerchai Boonkoonsak, managing director of Comnet, in a prepared statement.
