Renowned voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) executive Ron Harden has joined wholesale VoIP service provider VoX Communications as its executive vice president - sales and marketing, according to an announcement released today.

In joining VoX, Harden leaves next-gen enhanced service provider Volo Communications, where he held the position of executive vice president-sales and marketing, according to the press release.

"Ron has a great reputation and will be a strong addition to our VoX team," Mark Richards, president of VoX Communications, said in a prepared statement.  "He has more than 25 years' domestic and international experience in the areas of sales & marketing, engineering, business development, and strategic planning, and understands the VoIP business better than most in the industry."

According to the release, prior to his tenure at Volo, Harden served in various executive positions at Grande Communications, PointOne Telecommunications, Inc., Williams Communications, WorldCom Inc. and WilTel.

Additionally, the release states that "Harden has served on the ASCENT and CompTel/ASCENT board of directors for six years, most recently as chairman."

Earlier this month, VoX's parent company eLEC Communications Corp. announced that Payam Maveddat joined its advisory board to support VoX.
