Brix Intros VoIP QoS Analyzers

Brix Networks just introduced the BrixCall and the BrixWorx VoIP performance management software offerings in order to allow network operators to monitor and analyze live subscriber calls and voice traffic service quality, the company announced on Monday.

The company's new BrixCall software is a call signaling and media linking application that delivers visibility to the customer's VoIP experience. "BrixCall, as an integrated component within the company's BrixWorx central-site software, closes the visibility gap from expected network performance to actual customer experience. As a result, network operators can accelerate VoIP deployments with confidence and sustain greater profitability from IP-based services," noted the company's news release.

BrixCall conducts per-call analysis and troubleshooting, and tracks call success ratios and durations. The software also analyzes overall call loading and traffic patterns, which allow network operators to identify performance problems and isolate them to the VoIP, PSTN, or partner network.

Brix also announced today it introduced the Brix 4000 Verifier, a passive monitoring appliance that not only captures data in real-time, but it also integrates with other Brix measurement appliances across the IP infrastructure, reporting info to BrixCall for monitoring and analysis of the subscriber's experience.

The Brix 4000 measures both signaling protocols and bearer traffic quality of the live customer traffic, and can handle 1,000 simultaneous calls.

"Service assurance across all the different stages of a service rollout is a prerequisite for successful VoIP deployments and helps reduce costly customer churn and maintain happy subscribers," said David Kaufman, director of product management, Brix Networks. "Brix provides a full line of solutions that offer a unique blend of active and passive data correlation and performance analysis, which give network operators a range of flexible call collection capabilities and options, depending on their specific needs."

These new Brix systems feature the company's Brix Tri-Q Analysis, which measures signaling quality, delivery quality, and call quality.

Today's news follows the company's July announcement of it introducing the BrixCare Self-Service, a VoIP quality measurement and reporting application for VoIP service providers. According to the company's news release, the new application was designed to "measure VoIP quality from the customer premises, and enable providers to launch, operate, and assure their residential and business broadband voice services."
