C3i Picked By Someone.

A Really Big Company has selected C3i to help upgrade their Siebel tools.

C3i, a CRM and outsourcing services provider, has announed that "one of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies" has selected C3i to upgrade and enhance their Siebel sales application for its entire North American sales force of 3,500 representatives.

The news advisory didn't say which large pharmaceutical company, although with all the consolidation in that sector one can't make too many wrong guesses. Why the company refused to be named was not explained by company officials.

Anyway, The Large Pharmaceutical Company Which Must Not Be Named has tasked C3i with upgrading them from Siebel 7.5 to 7.8, and to "define and configure enhancements to support full electronic Samples Management capabilities on a tablet computer."

Usually when companies upgrade their customer or client-facing processes they're falling all over themselves to let their customers know how much they mean, what efforts the company's taking to improve customer service, et al.

It works for employee-facing software as well. For instance, C3i will also be implementing an integrated Expense Reporting process within Siebel, which company officials say will enable a better user experience for the 3,500 sales representatives. That's something you want other sales reps, who might not be happy with their company's reporting or SFA, to know.

C3i will provide Siebel technical experts to work through the upgrade and development of new functionality.

Dave Hanaman, chief sales and marketing officer of C3i picked his words carefully in making the announcement, saying things like "this new large-scale implementation" and "our professional services team provides our customers with specific Siebel and CRM software guidance."

A few days ago C3i announced a deal with ImClone Systems, Inc., a provider of cancer treatment therapies, for C3i to deploy and provide end-to-end CRM services for its entire mobile sales team.

C3i, the exclusive outsourcing vendor for ImClone's mobile sales force, will provide initial Siebel implementation, training and hardware rollout services, and will continue to provide ongoing help desk, hardware support and application management services for ImClone, as well as continuing to support ImClone with additional Siebel services.

Kristin Bailey, senior director of field and tech operations for ImClone, said they chose C3i for "its reputation to deliver high quality service, its industry-specific experience and its ability to provide superior support to our growing sales force."

Evidently other companies also appreciate its discretion in announcing huge wins.
