BroadSoft Named Market Leader by Current Analysis

BroadSoft, provider of VoIP application software, announced today that is has been named market leader in the VoIP application market by research firm Current Analysis.

BroadSoft earned market leader status in two recent Current Analysis reports—a quarterly corporate assessment (published Nov. 29, 2005) and a product assessment (published Jan. 25, 2006) of BroadSoft’s BroadWorks platform.

“While several competitors in the VoIP application server market can make claims of leadership in various aspects of the market, BroadSoft's momentum in terms of high-profile customer deployments and product innovation merit recognition as the overall market leader at this particular point in time,” said Joe McGarvey, Current Analysis’ principal analyst and author of the reports, in a press release.

According to the reports, BroadSoft’s integration of multiple functions into a single platform are what make the company’s solutions stand above the offerings of competitors.

BroadSoft was the first company to provide a commercially available IMS-compliant VoIP application server in early 2005. Also during 2005, the company acquired application developer Carbon Twelve, and launched a Windows-based softphone called BroadWorks Communicator.
