Qwest Communications International Inc.,  provider of high speed internet data, voice and video services announced today they have signed a $7.5 million contract with Allina Hospitals & Clinics to provide them with voice and data networking services.

Allina Hospitals & Clinics is a system of non-profit hospitals that provide health care services and clinics to communities throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

Using GeoMax, their high-speed, high-capacity networking solution, Qwest is able to efficiently connect a number of Allina Clinics & Hospitals to optimize their overall network and provide better care for their patients.

Some of the key features involved in this enhancement of the hospitals services include centralized: voicemail, IVR, dictation applications and call management services as well as access to automated records and diagnostic images for patients and providers.

Qwest offers the new features via a high-speed bandwidth that allows both patients and providers to benefit from voice and data convergence.

"Given the highly sensitive data our organization works with on a daily basis, it was critical to find a reputable service provider that would allow our hospitals and clinics to gain secure access to patient records as soon as they're needed," said David Lind, I.S. director of Allina Hospitals & Clinics in a recent new release.
