RM News: CRM for BlackBerry, DRM and Hitwise Acquires HitDynamics

By DAVID SIMS

Relationship management news for today:

O2 Interactive, the homebuilder customer management systems vendor, has announced their release of version 3.0 of OnSite CRM.

OnSite CRM provides a "full life cycle of customer management for residential homebuilders and design centers," company officials say, and Version 3.0 now includes a wireless BlackBerry interface, interactive flooring and electrical editors, geographic prospect analysis, and external portals.

OnSite CRM for BlackBerry allows access to real-time information when sales, service and design center personnel are not near a desktop computer. OnSite CRM for BlackBerry allows people in the field to access customer information, lot inventories, and manages punch lists during quality control inspections.

Future releases will incorporate a broader range of functionality from OnSite CRM, company officials say.

Hitwise, an online competitive intelligence service, announced it has acquired HitDynamics, a technology platform that combines search campaign management, search marketing reporting and conversion tracking analytics into a single interface.

The HitDynamics online marketing platform is currently used by agencies and web site marketers to implement search marketing campaigns and track the success of their PPC, search engine optimization and affiliate marketing campaigns.

Initially, HitDynamics will operate independently and will continue to service its existing client base in Europe. In the coming months, Hitwise intends to use the HitDynamics technology in conjunction with its Online Competitive Intelligence research to deliver integrated services to its 1,200 global clients.

Here's another management challenge for the Information Age: New channels, particularly the Internet and mobile networks, distribute content that is subject to intellectual property rights, which means more effective means of controlling the usage and distribution of IP is creating enhanced emphasis on digital rights management.

Moreover, the implementation of the open mobile alliance DRM v2.0 enables improved interoperability across networks and is expected to boost the growth of DRM products in Europe.

"DRM will witness further growth as content owners exhibit their desire to promote content to customers through all available channels," notes Mr. Pranab Mookken, ICT Industry Manager at Frost & Sullivan. "Further, the implementation of OAM DRM v2.0 will spur the wireless content industry market which will reach around EUR20.00 billion by 2011."

In keeping with the need of the communications industry for agnostic DRM, which allows for seamless interoperability across fixed and wireless networks, the market is expected to witness growth.

"It will become essential to ensure ease of use in the implementation of DRM technologies," says Mookken. "Operators that run CoreMedia DRM, such as Vodafone, will benefit from increased usage of mobile content applications due to the improved interoperability offered by the OMA DRM v2.0."
