Did the Fax Come Yet?

Associate Editor

With so much conversation and debate over VoIP service, wireless solutions, and the combination of the two, one element of communication often is overlooked — and it is an component that is crucial to the success of many businesses.

Real estate firms in particular, but also law firms, healthcare facilities, and others, have a widespread need for faxing documents back and forth.  Waiting at the office for a fax to be sent or received would be a tremendous waste of time.  But is there really another way to quickly procure a signature for an offer, a prescription, or a settlement?

The widespread demand and use for faxed documents continues to grow, and but fax capabilities must keep pace with evolving technology.  Now, there is a modern option available: MyFax, an Internet fax service allows brokers, agents, buyers and sellers, doctors, attorneys, and anyone else to send and receive faxes over the Internet using existing email accounts or the Web. MyFax subscribers can manage their fax communication and corresponding document management more efficiently and at a lower cost than traditional fax machines, regardless of their physical location.

“As the Director of Education and Technology for a real estate company with 180 agents, I know our clients and brokers are benefiting from MyFax service. It is faster, cheaper and allows our agents to view faxes online if they are out of the office, all of which were not offered by our previous Internet fax service,” said J. McKinney, Realty World in Austin, Texas.

Users can send, receive, store or forward faxes securely without fax machines, dedicated fax/phone lines, long distance phone charges or fax modems. In fact, MyFax subscribers can access their fax communications from anywhere, at any time, just as they access their email from a PDA, a laptop computer, or other mobile devices.

Naturally, the reliability of the MyFax solution must be quite high, for a single digit being misread on a low quality fax could result in disaster for a realtor or attorney.  Not only does MyFax improve responsiveness, it also allows users to better manage their documents — since they can be stored, filed, and retrieved electronically — which, in turn results in improved client satisfaction and greater schedule flexibility.

Benefits of MyFax include:
  • Easy to use — it works as quickly and easily as regular email.
  • No second line required.
  • Toll-free fax number at no additional charge.
  • Faxes can be received as PDF documents.
  • Online storage — Store faxes online. Send and receive from three email accounts per user
  • Security and Privacy — password protection on a secure Web site and integration into private email account also enhances security.
  • Online account management tools. Add users, modify accounts and customize settings/options.

MyFax is available for only $10 USD per month or $110 USD per year. This price includes 100 outbound pages and 200 inbound pages per month. Volume pricing is also available.
