Glenayre Messaging is reportedly planning to open new offices in New Delhi, India, and Ghana, West Africa.

The company, a division of Glenayre Technologies Inc., offers next-generation messaging solutions and services to mobile and fixed line telecommunications carriers and cable companies.

“The Indian telecommunications industry is one of the earliest adopters of new technology, and we see great potential for our products in this region,” said Jugad Singh Bawa, Glenayre’s regional sales manager in India, in a press release. “India is on the threshold of moving to 3G, and as one of the leading 3G messaging solutions providers, Glenayre is ideally placed to ensure that the people of India get the latest, cutting-edge technology. New Delhi is the ideal location from which Glenayre can continue to grow, not only in the Indian market, but also in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan.”

Glenayre has decided to open a new office in Ghana to help meet the rapid growth of its business in Africa. The company’s subscriber base in Africa has reportedly grown substantially during the past two years.

The company has appointed Jean Marc Rhainds as regional sales manager, West Africa.

“West Africa is set to be one of the fastest growing telecommunications markets in the world,” Rhainds said in the press release. “Glenayre is not just another vendor looking to sell products in the African market; we are seeking in-depth partnerships with leading African operators to develop value-added solutions that fit specific market needs. Glenayre’s intention is to open strategic offices as market demands require and as we grow our African footprint.”

Glenayre has increased its business revenue outside the Americas in 2005 to almost three times what it was in 2004. The company already has offices in Singapore, Japan and Hong Kong, and offers 24-hour, seven-days-a-week support from its office in Singapore.
