AdventNet Rolls Out Vendor Neutral Version 4.3 of ManageEngine WiFi Manager

TMCnet Contributing Editor

AdventNet Inc. has announced version 4.3 of its ManageEngine WiFi (News - Alert) Manager, offering support for more than 70 models of access points. The new vendor neutral solution supports access points from a number of companies, including 3Com, Avaya (News - Alert), Cisco, Dell (News - Alert), D-Link, Ericsson (News - Alert), HP, Huawei, Linksys (News - Alert), Mikrotik, NetGear, Nomadix., Proxim, SMC and Symbol.

The latest version of the ManageEngine WiFi Manager enhances IT administrator productivity by offering a single interface for WLAN management instead of making customers log into multiple vendor-supplied applications or vendor specific Web interfaces. The enterprise-class software offers centralized management and security for WLANs and enhances their availability and security. This is achieved by continuous monitoring of the network and airspace, and the solution can detect most major wireless threats like DoS attacks, rogue attacks, intrusions, sniffers and vulnerabilities.

"WiFi Manager helps us configure and update all access points spread across the campus without any hassle. We especially like being able to manage several brands of Access Points with one management utility. In short, it has made life more comfortable," said John Diehl, network specialist for Kyrene School District, Arizona.

"Currently, it is very difficult for companies to stick with equipment from one single vendor, as the wireless industry is still maturing, and mergers, acquisitions and consolidations are frequently occurring," said Sivaramakrishnan, WiFi Manager's product manager and lead architect. "WiFi Manager, with its unique capability to manage more than 70 leading models of access points in the market, ensures uniform experience for administrators to manage heterogeneous environments," he added.
