Chordiant Provides Network to Accelerate Business Enterprise Solutions

TMCnet Contributing Editor

Chordiant Software, a provider of Customer Experience (Cx) software and services, has announced the launch of Chordiant Mesh, a new open source-inspired collaborative development model. Chordiant Mesh is designed to provide open and continuous customer collaboration.

Coupling concrete customer needs with the Chordiant Mesh collaboration environment, Chordiant works in tandem with its customers and partners to develop and deploy new software applications that satisfy demanding business needs more quickly and logically than previously possible.

Solutions developed using Chordiant Mesh are built on the Chordiant Enterprise Platform, a process-driven SOA and AJAX platform for building and deploying customer experience applications.

Chordiant will position this new customer-collaborative development model to accelerate the delivery of various new applications, solving business problems in financial services, insurance, media and telecommunications with the intent to lead enterprises to superior customer experiences by radically improving design, management and optimization strategies.

Chordiant is marketing its Chordiant Mesh as having the following benefits:

  • Faster delivery of innovations in applications and technology that will reduce time-to-market by meeting business objectives quickly, logically and cost-effectively.
  • Flexibility to fit Chordiant applications and enterprise architecture to specific business needs. Product teams cooperate to make application and architecture changes in an effort to ensure current customizations become the product features of tomorrow.
  • Direct source code access and a prolonged solution for applications and infrastructure code reduce the effort in customization, lower the cost of ownership and provide significant investment protection.
  • Global expertise is harnessed and applied geographically and organizationally to solve concrete business problems.
  • Greater visibility is provided into product planning, prioritization and development processes to empower enterprises to better prepare for business and technology improvements.

Gothaer Versicherungsbank WaG, one of the largest insurance companies in Germany, utilized the Chordiant Mesh collaborative environment to create a more efficient, productive and scalable insurance sales and customer service application. Lothar Engelke, managing director, acknowledged that the Chordiant team worked to create a system that distributes and manages hundreds of thousands of sales and service work orders across the work force, thus radically improving the consistency and quality of future customer responsiveness.

Through the Chordiant Mesh, three types of partners – core technology providers, professional services organizations and independent software vendors (ISVs) – now have direct access to underlying source code and a global community of experts with whom to collaborate. As a result, customers are able to gain a broader selection of new solutions faster than before.

Steven R. Springsteel, Chordiant president and CEO, stated that in one ground-breaking step, Chordiant radically changes the way enterprise software applications are delivered to customers. With Chordiant Mesh collaboration, Chordiant customers will enjoy the benefits of software applications fixed exactly on their key business requirements, delivered with greater speed, transparency, and quality than traditional enterprise software development models allow.

Chordiant Mesh is the perfect response to the demand for consistent communication between partners and customers as the market tends to move faster than technology is developed and deployed. The telecommunications industry especially stands to gain significant value from participation in the Mesh environment.

As enterprises continue to focus on the importance of customer demands, the significance of responding quickly will become increasingly valuable. Additionally, by engaging product teams in the cooperation of application and architecture changes to ensure that customizations eventually become the norm, Chordiant is providing better market research for partners than traditional methods.

All in all, the Chordiant Mesh offers more benefits in one location than any previous solution. The challenge for the company now is to ensure the growth of its partners to continue to provide all participants with strong expertise the world over.
