Steelwedge Offers Tellabs Sales, CRM Help

The wonderfully-named Steelwedge Software, a vendor of Sales Planning & Performance Management products, has announced that Tellabs, a vendor of data networking and bandwidth management products, has gone live with a new collaborative Sales and Operations Planning process to "improve executive visibility and drive efficiencies across the organization," according to Steelwedge officials.



The "new, comprehensive" Sales & Operations Planning process is described by company officials as incorporating "extensive supply, demand and financial input and feedback from sales, marketing, operations and finance."


It is based on the earlier Global Demand Management Initiative which is also driven by Steelwedge Software.

"In less than four years Tellabs has completely reworked its sales forecasting and demand management process, and now Sales and Operations Planning," said Steelwedge EVP Services Glen Margolis.

The Steelwedge S&OP implementation includes integration with Tellabs Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system used for sales pipeline management and with their SAP (News - Alert) r/3 ERP system.

Earlier this month Steelwedge announced that Aurora Networks selected its Sales Forecasting and Planning On-Demand product to automate sales opportunity configuration and pipeline management, in company officials' words "bridging the gaps between sales pipeline opportunity analysis, sales opportunity configuration, and demand planning processes."

Aurora Networks is a manufacturer of optical transport systems for broadband networks that support the convergence of digital broadband, voice, video and data applications.
