CRM Vendor NetSuite In "Biggest On-Demand" Sitting Ever

NetSuite, Inc., a vendor of on-demand business software suites, has announced that UCG, a vendor of business information, is rolling out NetSuite to automate its front- and back-office operations, from financials to sales force automation and customer support.

The NetSuite installation is expected to give UCG a "full view of its business," officials say.

UCG plans to deploy more than 700 user seats of NetSuite which, NetSuite officials claim, makes it "the largest on-demand ERP and CRM implementation in the world."

Having already implemented the ERP component of NetSuite across its entire finance unit, UCG has also introduced NetSuite CRM for part of its sales and customer support functions and plans to complete the implementation for the remaining business divisions over the coming months.

In August NetSuite announced that North Carolina State University's College of Management has incorporated NetSuite Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) into its Master of Accounting (MAC) and MBA curricula.

The college's Enterprise Resource Planning course is equipping MBA and MAC students with the knowledge and skills needed to manage the entire business process, and "working with NetSuite's one integrated system, students learn the entire end-to-end cycle of a business, such as purchase to pay or order to cash -- not only the financials," according to NetSuite officials.

"I have been teaching ERP classes at the graduate level for five years using various software packages including the traditional ERP systems, but they were not user-friendly; I spent most of my time managing the software versus teaching my students," said Marianne Bradford, Associate Professor of Accounting.

UCG sells specialized business-to-business information for healthcare, oil & energy, high technology, telecommunications, banking & finance and education clients.

The vendor has previously used Microsoft (News - Alert) Great Plains (Dynamics) for financial operations and Goldmine for SFA and CRM.
