AdventNet Releases NetFlow Analyzer 5.5

AdventNet Inc. has released the latest version (5.5) of its NetFlow Analyzer, which includes support for Ciscos’ Network Based Application Recognition (NBAR) functionality.

The new version of NetFlow Analyzer includes several upgraded features, including automatic scheduling and e-mailing of reports, raw data storage period of one month (up from 2 weeks), and support for ToS and TCP Flag.

In addition to these features the new release supports advanced application categorization based on IP address.

A Beta version of the product was made available a couple months ago to gain customer feedback and suggestions which were incorporated into the final release.

“The kind of response that we received during the 2 month Early Access period was encouraging, both in terms of the readiness to try and the quality of feedback,” said Raghu Ramanujam, product manager of NetFlow Analyzer, in a press release.

“With enterprises more dependent on complex networked applications than ever, in-depth and accurate analysis of network traffic is crucial for optimal performance of applications,” Ramanujam continued.  “We are glad to utilize Cisco NetFlow and Cisco NBAR technologies to bring layer 2 to layer 7 visibility.”

Cisco NBAR provides intelligent identification and classification of application traffic in real time by performing deep packet inspection. Administrators can use the classification reports to set QoS standards.

NetFlow Analyzer can collect Cisco NetFlow and Cisco NBAR data exported from routing devices, to analyze network traffic and report on bandwidth usage across the network.

A web-based bandwidth monitoring tool, NetFlow Analyzer provides instant real-time bandwidth usage reports on top applications, conversations, and hosts using bandwidth to give insight into bandwidth usage in the enterprise.

ManageEngine NetFlow Analyzer reportedly provides flow based traffic analysis and network forensics for over 200,000 users across the globe.

AdventNet was in the news last month for announcing the availability of Zoho’s web-based CRM and office productivity tools via the new WebEx Connect application grid. The new WebEx Connect integration enables the Zoho CRM users to instantly schedule or launch WebEx meetings directly from Zoho CRM.

More information is available from AdventNet and Cisco.
