HelpIT Releases MatchIT API For CRM Data Help

Charging that "most CRM, ERP, web and data warehouse systems fail and in many cases are simply incapable of addressing the problem of data quality," helpIT systems President Robert Heidenreich says the data cleansing vendor has released matchIT API, a customizable plug-in component for point of capture, duplicate detection/prevention, and lookup.

MatchIT API, company officials say, is "a powerful tool" for companies confronted with large quantities of customer data spread across different files, systems, and departments.

"If you consider the propensity for errors when new contact records are entered in to a database, the need for the matchIT API becomes quickly apparent," says Heidenreich. "There are a myriad of touch points to both individual systems and across an entire enterprise, making the control of data extremely difficult."

They've certainly been at this for a while -- in 1998, fully eight years and a lifetime ago in the world of IT software, helpIT identified a need to add a batch cleansing option to their flagship deduplication product, matchIT. This would "remove the inconvenience their customers experienced in using several different packages, to achieve their desired results," according to a case study.

As Gareth Fearn, Marketing Manager said at the time, "the main emphasis was to provide the matchIT suite with a batch cleansing option. We wanted to offer our clients a fully integrated product, so they don't have to use half a dozen software applications. This means all of their addressing and deduplication needs are on one module, the matchIT suite."

As a key component in developing a broad systematic process to unify customer data, today company officials say matchIT API can be called to resolve a single data quality need, or as an integral component of a larger data management process for tackling not only the quality but the accessibility of data.

The product is designed for deployment in both batch and real time processes to address a multitude of data quality issues.

HelpIT systems publicly introduced matchIT API last month. Since then, "the buzz generated from its release has surpassed our expectations," Heidenreich claims. "Customers are implementing matchIT API for duplicate prevention, inquiry, batch deduplication, and merge purge activity."
