Yahoo! Inc. has introduced Yahoo! Food, offering comprehensive coverage on food information and content online. The latest lifestyle Web site from Yahoo will have content from celebrity chefs, a searchable recipe database and personalization features, in addition to a built-in user community on food.

“Yahoo! Food was designed with the everyday cook and food lover in mind,” said Deanna Brown, general manager, Yahoo! Lifestyles, in a press release. “Food is a necessity for everyone and an obsession to others, and we are thrilled to combine all these food features from great partners and marketers and present them in a seamless, integrated experience.”

According to the press release, Yahoo! Food has partnered with Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Wolfgang Puck Worldwide, Inc., Every Day with Rachael Ray, Food & Wine, Epicurious.com (online home to Bon Appetit and Gourmet), Allrecipes.com, Cook’s Illustrated, EatingWell, Taste of Home and Reader’s Digest to get video and informational content.

Yahoo! offers search technology that indexes thousands of recipes in collaboration with Allrecipes.com. This lets users can search by ingredient, cuisine, special days, taste or mealtimes.

The latest Yahoo lifestyle Web site will also feature 13 reputable bloggers, who will write about all things food, including: Marcus Samuelsson, “The Continental Chef;” Art Smith, “Back to the Table;” Donatella Arpaia, “Donatella’s Dish;” Serious Eats’ Ed Levine, “Ed Levine Eats;” and Frank Stitt, “Southern Table.”

What’s more, Yahoo! has plans to introduce an online video show called “Cheap and Easy,” featuring new culinary talent, Brooke Peterson, to attract more and more users to Yahoo! Food.

With high-quality original and video content, Yahoo! Food could pose great marketing opportunities for advertisers.
