Unity Wireless Embarks on Repeater Installation for Indonesia's Leading GSM Network Operator

Unity Wireless Corporation in partnership with IRIL Nusantara Telekomunikasi (INT) has started deploying an 111-unit repeater for Indonesia’s number one GSM carrier, TELKOMSEL.



Unity Wireless offers industry-leading wireless coverage enhancement solutions for cellular operators as well as custom subsystems for network infrastructure manufacturers.

Owned by PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia and the Singapore Telecom Group (Singtel), TELCOMSEL is a very successful company that boasts 35 million customers across Indonesia.

 

The installation deal was announced by Unity on November 6, 2006. The installation process is underway and is likely to be completed soon. However it is not entirely devoid of challenges. "Installations are quite challenging due to the remote locations, extreme weather conditions and the lack of adequate infrastructure on site. This requires unique expertise and engineering capabilities of a dedicated staff and support by comprehensive communication equipment," noted Mr. Saleh Effendi, Chairman of INT in an announcement.

 

"The combination of Unity's robust and competitively priced Celletra repeater technology, with the regional and technical expertise of our Indonesian partner, INT, has resulted in this successful, ongoing contract with PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia and the Singapore Telecom Group's (Singtel) TELKOMSEL," commented Ilan Kenig, President and CEO of Unity Wireless.

"Unity is experiencing exciting growth in our South East Asian region and we anticipate further breakthroughs as 2007 progresses," continued Kenig.
