Verizon Expands Korean Customer Service Assistance

TMCnet Contributing Editor

In an effort to better serve its multicultural customer base, Verizon (News - Alert) has expanded its in-language customer-service assistance to Korean-speaking customers in the Mid-Atlantic region to the states of Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia, and also in the District of Columbia.

This expansion will offer Verizon customers the benefit of being helped by Korean-speaking representatives to help them order products and services, obtain information or resolve issues. The recently added Mid-Atlantic Korean-speaking reps will join the ranks of the telecom's West and Eastern Seaboard Korean-speaking staff.

“With this expansion, we've increased the number of our Korean-speaking customer service representatives by 21 percent. Verizon is committed to delivering the best customer experience to our clients,” commented Pedro Correa, vice president of multicultural services for Verizon, in a statement released Tuesday.

Correa continued: “We are excited to deliver excellence with every customer interaction, and our goal is to create raving fans of our service. Our organization strives to be the premier customer choice for broadband and entertainment services.”

Verizon will provide the expanded service from its Multilingual Sales and Service Center in Queens, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  In select areas, the multilingual center also provides assistance in Korean for small- to medium-sized-business customers.

Verizon's mobile arm Verizon Wireless made news last week when it announced that it inked a deal with ESPN to deliver a sports content line-up to its subscribers. This agreement serves as a revamping of previously-available ESPN wireless content offerings.

Verizon Wireless subscribers who sign up for V CAST services will gain exclusive access to a range of ESPN content choices, including Mobile ESPN—a sports content application which was the main component of the Mobile ESPN MVNO service. The Mobile ESPN application will now be exclusive to Verizon Wireless.
