KEG Holdings, Inc., Acquires Applied Innovation, Inc.

KEG Holdings, Inc., a company whose assets include network access equipment provider Kentrox ( News - Alert), this week announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire all outstanding shares of Applied Innovation, a provider of mediation products for telecommunications carrier networks.
The deal calls for KEG Holdings to pay $3.45 per share of Applied Innovation ( News - Alert), although the final price may change based on Applied’s capital at time of closing. When the transaction is complete, Investcorp Technology Partners, a current investor in KEG, will own a controlling interest in the combined company.
William Largent, President and CEO at Applied Innovation, said in a statement that he
believes that the acquisition will be beneficial to customers.
“In today’s business environment, and especially in our industry, scale is becoming more critical in order to continue to bring technologically competitive and cost-competitive products to the marketplace,” Largent said in a statement.
He added: “By bringing together the technical and service capabilities of Applied Innovation and Kentrox, our telecommunications customers will have expanded access to more advanced products.”
Anand Radhakrishnan of Investcorp, expressed the sentiment that this merger will result in the creation of new and innovative telecom products.
“We believe our continued investment in KEG Holdings will allow the combination of Kentrox and Applied Innovation to continue to innovate, create new products and achieve their growth plans,” Radhakrishnan said in a statement.
Applied Innovation simplifies the management and enhancement of communication performance networks of telecom companies across the world. The company has introduced software, hardware, and service solutions that enable network applications to function efficiently.
Kentrox is provider of network access equipment. The company’s flagship offering is its Q-Series line of QoS access products designed to addresses the need for quality service using converged IP  networks.
