Orange Supports Riverbed's WAN Optimization Products

Orange's Business Services division has inked a deal with Riverbed Technology—a wide-area data services (WDS) provider, to offer an installation and maintenance support package which includes a four-hour response time to replace field parts to Riverbed's customers worldwide.

With Orange Business Services' technologies, now Riverbed will be able to ensure seamless business continuity, even with its varying enterprise customers' size and location. This seems to be very important to Riverbed, being that its WDS systems are deployed worldwide.

"Our solutions serve global enterprises and have been placed all over the world," said Riverbed's vice president of customer support Scott Downie, in a statement. "We needed a global partner that could reach our customers within four hours. Orange Business Services gives us this ability. Orange Business Services has the infrastructure, people and processes in place to meet the unique requirements of our business.”

Today's news follows Orange Business Services' joint announcement with Alcatel-Lucent about agreeing to provide businesses with a suite of end-to-end services supported from design to global implementation, including business telephony services, IP VPNs, fixed-mobile convergence systems, Unified Communication software applications and contact centers with multimedia traffic processing.

The companies decided to join forces via a partnership to enable Orange's customers to choose from either deploying end-to-end Alcatel (News - Alert)-Lucent technologies as a traditional network that is owned and operated by the enterprise, or as part of a Managed Communications Services model where the technologies are owned and managed by Orange.
