SkyCross Opens Additional Design Centers in Asia
 TMCnet Contributing Editor
In a bid to meet the growing demand from wireless device manufacturers serving the burgeoning Asian market, SkyCross ( News - Alert) has opened additional design centers in Shanghai, China, and Gumi, South Korea.
With these new centers SkyCross is better equipped to work in-region, with customers, to provide early feedback on industrial designs, a crucial success factor for device makers.
SkyCross designs and manufacturers high-performance antennas as well as provides significant expertise in maximizing performance of the entire RF system. This sets device designers free to create a full range of consumer electronics with wireless connectivity.
The RF systems approach not only reduces time to market but also lowers cost by simplifying or eliminating adjacent RF components, resolving complex, interrelated RF issues, and avoiding problems encountered late in the development cycle.
A Gartner ( News - Alert) report indicates that strong results in Asia/Pacific and Japan drove worldwide mobile phone sales to 14 percent growth in Q1 2007 in contrast to the same period in 2006. SkyCross’ new Asian centers provide unique, one-source RF solutions for device manufacturers, helping them to capitalize on this growth in device demand.
Each center offers the area’s top engineering talent and state-of-the-art, on-site test equipment. The company uses 3D measurement chambers with far-field scanner capabilities and advanced analysis software to thoroughly review antenna performance both in free space and upon integration. Leveraging this capability SkyCross can quickly and properly optimize wireless device RF systems.
Dr. Chris Morton, CEO of SkyCross believes these new design centers are a great barometer of their growth and is another milestone in their plan to open offices in other strategic locations.
“SkyCross supports the region's thirst for cutting-edge devices and networks with its next-generation technology,” said Dr. Young-Min Jo, managing director of SkyCross Korea and VP of Technology Development in a statement.
