ClickandBuy Chooses mBlox for Worldwide SMS Project
 TMCnet Contributing Editor
E-payment service provider ClickandBuy has teamed up with mobile transaction network mBlox to offer text-messaging services for consumers and merchants throughout Europe and the United States. ClickandBuy says the move is the first step in its pursuit to build a full-fledged mobile payments platform that it hopes to complete over the next six months.
mBlox, which specializes in providing operator connectivity and mobile billing capabilities, will work with ClickandBuy in preparing a global payments system that will enable the easy billing of content through mobile devices.
“SMS is a very ubiquitous and powerful channel for connecting people with their financial world. We are delighted to work together with ClickandBuy to provide an advanced mobile payments service for consumers and merchants alike,” said Steve Livingston, chief marketing officer of mBlox, in a statement.
ClickandBuy hopes to use the alliance to strengthen itself and expand farther.
“Our international merchants will now have a more seamless way of providing their services to its customers through this agreement with mBlox,” said Norbert Stangl, CEO of ClickandBuy.
ClickandBuy is more than a payment processor. Rather it is a hosted eCommerce platform. Merchants use ClickandBuy for the outsourcing of critical back office functions including multicurrency capabilities, fraud detection, live customer care, and for various billing options.
In Britain, ClickandBuy is a popular online payments wallet. It recently launched its Web cash service, giving users the ability to physically deposit and spend with cash online. This service is so attractive is that it eliminates the need to enter personal card or bank account details online.
Using a wallet like ClickandBuy is already one of the most flexible and safe ways to shop online in many European countries.
