Software Firm Flander Opens Outsourcing Center in Beijing

Software testing and developing company Flander has opened a new outsourcing center in Beijing, China. The company, which also has a major center in Helsinki, Finland, described the new facility as being an important expansion venture.

Flander can now cater to its Chinese market demands more fully. The company’s center in Beijing has been set up as a result of fast business growth. Flander has faced a rising demand for independent testing, and its branch in Beijing now has 110 software professionals, which is a significant increase from a year ago, when it had only 5 software professionals. Some of company’s growth can be explained by the acquisitioning of the Chinese Hexin Group’s mobile testing department, which occurred in June 2007. Another 40 percent of the growth has been a steady, organic result of company operations.

CEO of Flander, Markus Suomi, had this to say about business extension in China: “We are strongly focused on developing and growing our operations in China. The combination of our European presence, quality-driven approach and cost-efficient model of onsite, offsite and offshore resourcing is an increasingly attractive proposition for mobile handset manufacturers, software vendors, service providers, and mobile operators alike. With the new facility, we'll be able to offer dedicated and fully secured premises, dedicated servers and qualified professionals for a growing number of clients.”

Mika Heikinheimo, Managing Director of Flander’s Chinese branch, highlighted the fact that Flander is currently the only software testing company in Beijing which can offer ISEB certification for testing professionals. The main advantages of having an outsourcing center in Beijing are that it can give the company higher security and more versatility in catering to its clients.

New teams can now be created for up to 100 professionals to work in Flander’s high-security spaces. Flander has installed a fingerprint verified lock system and CCTV video camera for each space. Secure and reliable servers are used for each and every critical project.

The outsourcing center has been opened in the Soho Shangdu area of Beijing, which is an important business area. The location is relatively close to the airport, which makes it suitable for international and local customers alike.

Flander provides mobile software testing and development services to businesses. High-profile mobile handset manufacturers, independent software vendors, and commercial service providers are amongst Flander’s customers. Dun & Bradstreet has authorized Flander with an AAA rating. The company has been operating for ten years from Finland, China and Sweden.
