BakBone Software, a company that provides heterogeneous integrated data protection solutions, today announced that it’s expanded its distribution relationship with IT products distributor Tech Data ( News - Alert) Corporation.
Under the agreement, the authorized value-added reseller can sell the entire BakBone product line through Tech Data’s Advanced Infrastructure Solutions Division.
In August, Tech Data Corporation announced that its AIS division would distribute BakBone’s NetVault Backup StoreVault Edition. The new announcement expands their relationship and allows Tech Data Corporation to distribute the entire BakBone product line.
AIS division of Tech Data combines a high-touch, consultative sales approach with the distributor’s extensive technical expertise and broad product knowledge to help resellers capitalize on the demand for mid-market and enterprise-level server, storage and software solutions.
“BakBone’s relationship with Tech Data and its AIS Division has certainly provided us with greater opportunities to introduce NetVault: Backup to key partners who acquire their data protection solutions from distribution leader Tech Data,” said Ken Horner, a senior vice president at BakBone.
BakBone’s NetVault: Backup recently won the Best Backup Product at Storage Magazine Awards.
Horner described the expanded relationship as a significant milestone that enables the company to continue its commitment to the channel. Horner added that Tech Data’s leadership in providing VARs with versatile data center solutions makes them an excellent partner for BakBone.
The expanded relationship with BakBone for distributing the company’s entire product line is expected to strengthen Tech Data AIS Division’s vision and enable the company to offer high-end data protection solutions allowing VARs and solution providers to deploy all BakBone products.
“Tech Data’s AIS Division is focused on helping VARs deploy the latest data center technologies and high-end applications critical to today’s businesses,” said Amy Belcher, a director of product marketing.
