EMSS Adds HOOPS Technology from Tech Soft 3D to Compliance Management Software

TMCnet Contributing Editor

EMSS, a company that provides electromagnetic simulation software products, announced that HOOPS technology will be integrated into its new IXUS 3D software.

The technology provides enterprises with enhanced graphical performance, and is developed by Tech Soft 3D (TS3D), a company offering customer-driven development tools, consulting and support services for rapidly delivering world-class technical software.

HOOPS is a 2D/3D development platform for creating or enhancing professional-grade applications. The platform offers a rich set of application programming interfaces (API) that enables developers to produce more competitive applications, while reducing total R&D costs and accelerating project delivery.

The compliance industry was dominated by 2D simulation software applications until recently, that only performed parts of the compliance process.

Now it is possible to model mobile base stations in full 3D and calculate and display accurate International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) non-compliance zones graphically for each base station in a network.

The IXUS suite deploys the HOOPS platform and the Parasolid® Kernel Modeller linked up to the Qt UI development toolkit, which is a cross-platform application development framework widely used for the development of GUI programs.

The solution is equipped with a state-of-the art Electromagnetic Field (EMF) calculator, which has been optimized to run swiftly on a typical desktop computer.

The development team at EMSS Consulting said that HOOPS offered them an improvement in graphics acceleration without compromising on the quality of the models.

The team noted that the software is also very easy to use, as the user can create accurate 3D models using blueprints or the dimensions measured on site, then snap on ready-made elements like masts, fences, containers and ladders.

Ron Fritz, chief executive officer of Tech Soft 3D commented that IXUS is a great affirmation of the value Tech Soft provides by pre-integrating components such as HOOPS, Parasolid and Qt.

Fritz noted that by linking these robust libraries together, Tech Soft 3D is able to help companies such as EMSS Consulting address new market opportunities by getting powerful applications developed in a very short period of time.
