CDC Software (News - Alert), a provider of enterprise software applications and business services, said customer adoption for its Pivotal 6.0 customer relationship management (CRM) platform is increasing substantially.

Pivotal 6.0 from CDC Software, a CRM platform based on Microsoft (News - Alert).NET Framework 3.5, Windows Vista, Windows Server, and Microsoft’s SQL Server, was launched in July 2008.

CDC’s CRM platform provides task-based navigation, embedded Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and Microsoft Office System 2007 applications, easy customization, a smart client user interface, high user adoption and a low total cost of ownership, a media statement said.

Pivotal 6.0 is an easy-to-use CRM platform. It easily integrates with Microsoft Office Outlook 2007. Because of this feature, Pivotal 6.0 allows users to complete much of their daily work without having to leave their CRM system.

The latest features added to Pivotal 6.0 also provide easier customization, enhanced searching and reporting capabilities, and flexibility to conform to an organization’s way of doing business. All of these features have resulted in increased user adoption and overall higher worker productivity, according to CDC Software.

“This integration allows the appropriate user within a defined business process and role to view the type of content they need to do their job at a high level of productivity,” said Dev Balasubramanian, Outlook product manager, Microsoft Office Enterprise Group, in a statement. “This is an innovative way for enterprise applications to use Microsoft Outlook business applications.”

More than 45 prospective customers have lined up for the deployment of Pivotal 6.0, said CDC Software.

“We are thrilled with the aggressive user adoption of Pivotal 6.0 that we have seen in such a short time frame,” said Bruce Cameron, executive vice president, Worldwide Sales and Marketing, CDC Software, in a statement. “By offering customers a compelling CRM solution that combines Microsoft’s powerful .NET (News - Alert) technology and Pivotal CRM’s superior performance of usability and greater flexibility, we believe that we are strongly-positioned as a leading provider of CRM solutions that directly address our customers’ industry-specific requirements.”

Eddie Amos, general manager for Worldwide Partner Evangelism for Microsoft, said, “The CDC Pivotal CRM release of 6.0 is a prime example of how CDC Software has continued to extend the value of enterprise application development with Microsoft’s technology platform. By utilizing Microsoft’s platform technologies, Pivotal 6.0 has enabled its users to enjoy increased functionality which, in the end, creates higher user adoption and satisfaction.”
