Pegasystems Intros Cloud-Enabled Business Process Management Platform as a Service
 TMCnet Contributing Editor
Providing companies the benefits of Software-as-a-Service without the limitations, risk, or performance concerns of traditional SaaS ( News - Alert) technology, Pegasystems, a provider of BPM software, reportedly has introduced an industry-first BPM Platform-as-a-Service offering.
BPM PaaS helps companies and business process outsourcers who desire to take advantage of a Software-as-a-Service model. Providing integration, security, visibility, and reliability that other SaaS offerings do not provide, Pegasystems ( News - Alert) leapfrogs existing SaaS technology.
Apart from hosted SaaS, many observers see more immediate and practical uses of cloud-enabled technologies. A commoditized SaaS offering is not likely to get work on change-sensitive mission critical functions as they are more appropriate for the SMB market. Big companies host many different communities that need their own specialized processes to evolve.
Pegasystems says its BPM Platform-as-a-Service is the only BPM PaaS solution that offers: multi-tenant capability to rapidly deploy and add business-specific BPM to shared enterprise processes; elimination of information silos caused by externally hosted SaaS applications; a thin client development environment and full Web-based user interaction; an in-house BPM SaaS capability with all of the security and integration of data center infrastructure; and PaaS capability for end-to-end BPM development and execution, not just simple modeling.
Pegasystems provides software to drive revenue growth, productivity and agility for the world’s most sophisticated organizations. The award-winning SmartBPM suite from the company is used by customers to improve customer service, reach new markets and boost operational effectiveness.
“Business users have become increasingly intrigued by the SaaS model, but have told us they are not going to trust their mission critical processes, policies and data to an externally hosted environment,” said Pegasystems Founder and Chief Executive Officer Alan Trefler ( News - Alert). “Our new industry-first BPM Platform-as-a-Service removes the risks that customers typically associate with SaaS solutions such as integration, security, visibility, and reliability, so they can focus on applying the benefits that BPM can provide across the enterprise.”
