Socket Mobile's Sales Force Automation Solution for Tango
 TMCnet Contributing Editor
Socket Mobile, Inc. and writeORDER made a joint announcement that Tango, an independent sales agency, has chosen Socket SoMo 650 handheld computer and CompactFlash Scan Card Series 5 as its mobile solution for order placement and management.
WriteORDER offers order entry and CRM solutions for manufacturers and sales agencies with integrated online and mobile computer applications. The online applications include custom catalogs; order, invoice and shipment tracking data; sales activity management and presentation tools; and real-time reporting and analysis.
Socket and writeORDER worked with 24/7 Network Stability, Inc. and designed a mobile solution which will enable Tango’s sales team to optimize their business. writeORDER’s custom software automatically transitions from the field to the show room allowing Tango sales personnel to record and process all orders making use of their handheld mobile computers.
The sales representative has to select the customer and manufacturer from the computer and choose between items by scanning UPC or SKU bar codes. Order details including ship date, terms and details regarding items that cannot be scanned are rapidly entered into the computer using the supplier and agency specific data screens. Sales representatives can connect the mobile computer to wireless printers so that they can give a copy of the order confirmation to customers in real time.
The confirmed order is wirelessly transmitted to Tango’s back office and to the manufacturer so that the order is ready for shipping thereby ensuring time and cost savings as manual input is avoided in accounting applications. Online applications also give a detailed report for management in real time besides offering sale spanning tools for all sales personnel.
“Organizations without internal IT departments need reliable systems that not only streamline ordering and reduce inaccuracies, but accelerate the overall process,” said Lynn Aylsworth, president of writeORDER.
Vicky Muetterties, co-owner of Tango noted that at a trade show if a company cannot efficiently process orders due to the time pressures, revenue will be lost. On deploying the SoMo 650, Tango was able to complete 1,500 trade show orders in one week, without any hardware or software issues. This led to more sales than what could have been realized by using pen and paper.
The gift and home décor industry is a large one with several thousand manufacturers world wide. The sale figures reach well over $65 billion and the competition is also fierce. Tango is a sales agency representing gift manufacturers, specialty boutiques and home décor stores.
By implementing Socket Mobile solution sales agencies like Tango can do business more effectively and optimize their profits said Bob Zink, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Socket Mobile.
Socket Mobile provides innovative mobile productivity solutions and mobile computing hardware systems. Its handheld mobile computer is designed for business mobility use and its mobile data collection and networking peripherals enable increase in mobile automation resulting in more productivity.
