Mercury Cable & Energy, a privately held developer of High Voltage Composite Reinforced Conductors for electrical transmission lines, has announced that a Notice of Allowance on patent application number 12070244 for Mercury Cable’s HVCRC Smart Conductor has been issued by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
All the 33 claims so submitted are covered by the patent issued and the examiner considered all the prior art available including Composite Technology Corporation’s (OTCBB:CPTC.OB) ‘162 and ‘319 patents which are the subject of an infringement lawsuit between the parties.
It is the first U.S. patent issued among more than 16 patents issued worldwide for Mercury’s HVCRC Smart Conductor and the very issuance of this patent confirms the unique nature of this product.
“We are pleased to see the acceptance of the HVCRC patent submission by the USPTO, Ron Morris, General Counsel of Mercury, said. “The issuance of this patent gives us a great deal of confidence in our ability to protect our proprietary HVCRC Smart Conductor intellectual property in the United States and worldwide.”
In related news, Mercury Cable & Energy has entered into a partnership relation with EC Source Services according to which ECS will offer installation services for Mercury Cable’s HVCRC conductor applications.
