Carestream Health, a provider of dental and medical imaging systems, has reportedly received the ONC-ATCB Certification from the Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT), which recognized the Carestream Vue RIS v.11 as a complete EHR for stage 1 of meaningful use.

CCHIT certifies EHRs to be capable of meeting the 2011/2012 criteria to support Stage 1 Meaningful Use if they adhere to the requirements set by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
Carestream has qualified as one of the eligible providers and hospitals that can receive funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

"Carestream's Vue RIS v.11 provides a complete EHR that allows radiologists and other specialists to efficiently manage imaging workflows while simultaneously capturing and reporting the data required to satisfy Stage 1 requirements for electronic health records," said Diana L. Nole, president of Digital Medical Solutions at Carestream Health. "With our Vue RIS, physicians can enhance patient care while achieving operational efficiencies and reduced expenses."
Carestream's Vue RIS improves radiology workflow by automating the patient's diagnostic journey from order entry to results distribution, reducing errors and improving patient care. The Web-based radiology information system is accessible from anywhere, adapting to the needs of multi-site enterprises or hospitals, and integrates mammography workflows, peer review and reporting to eliminate disparate systems.
The solution's native ACR peer review function also supposedly tracks reviews of an original diagnosis by a second radiologist and meets requirements set by the American College of Radiology.
Notable benefits and features of Carestream Vue RIS: Integrates with EMR and full healthcare IT strategy; maximizes referrals and internal performance with customized management reports; caters to user needs with a full suite of standard reports and a complete back-end management toolbox; easy-to-use toolkit for local tailoring; and operates on standard, off-the-shelf server or PC.
