Russia's TVzavr Uses Verimatrix Video Content Authority System
Russia's TVzavr, an online aggregator of professional video content, has announced
that its using Verimatrix (News
) Video Content Authority System to secure its over-the-top (OTT) video-on-demand (VoD) service for Internet TV.
Vzavr is one of the largest online video services, which has been functioning since 2010. It receives more than 2 million visitors monthly, and more than 100,000 visitors daily according to TNS (News
) Gallup. TVzavr video catalog includes more than 10,000 hours of video: feature films and documentaries, serials, cartoons, tutorials, and more. Content is accessible through multiple platforms including PC, TVs, STBs, mobile devices and more.
Alexander Belenov, general director of online cinema at TVzavr, said that they conducted an extensive analysis of the various existing CAS/DRM systems on the market and ultimately chose the Verimatrix solution, in part because of its reputation of reliability, proven track record and mature partner ecosystem.
'VCAS for Internet TV allows us to broadcast content in protected mode to a wide range of devices enabling our customers to create their own world of entertainment. Providing extra layers of protection into the standard HLS protocol is a critical differentiator to power our on-demand services.'
The Verimatrix Video Content Authority System (VCAS) provides the tools and support digital TV operators require in order to address the new opportunities arising from the accelerating convergence of video delivery over various types of networks -- whether managed or unmanaged -- to a multitude of devices.
This convergence must encompass a proactive revenue protection and enhancement approach that enables service operators to cast a much wider net with their service offerings. This solution includes features like multi-format support and VCAS for Internet TV secures OTT services to multiple screens and across multiple network types, including both broadcast (linear) and VoD delivery modes.
