Upgraded Reliatel VoIP and UC Management for Microsoft Lync Released with Monitoring and Performance Management

Tone Software (News - Alert) Corporation, a network monitoring and management solutions provider for converged telecommunications and IT infrastructures, recently released version 4.1 of its ReliaTel VoIP and Unified Communications (News - Alert) (UC) Service Assurance solution.
 
In a statement, Tone said the new enhanced version has been designed to offer proactive monitoring and management for Microsoft (News - Alert) Lync UC environments. The move is a response to the trends involving rapid adoption of Microsoft Lync as a UC platform.

 
With an increasing number of companies viewing Lync as a cost-effective strategy to incorporate unified communications into their existing IPT, Microsoft Lync has experienced an exponential 250-percent growth rate this year, according to a Microsoft report.
 
The platform allows companies to utilize their existing Windows network architecture and their users' existing desktop resources. While Microsoft Lync has been proven to be a lucrative solution for these enterprises, providing them with a significantly improved ROI, it also tends to create additional strain on the IP network, and the system resources of every Lync user's desktop - a strain that can seriously jeopardize the expected UC benefits of collaboration, unified messaging and increased user productivity.
 
Tone explained that the new ReliaTel VoIP and UC Management solution for Microsoft Lync proactively manages the entire Lync UC environment, inclusive of the underlying IPT network, primary VoIP switch, third-party SBCs and network transport devices, end users' desktop resources, and their softphone call quality.
 
By adopting ReliaTel's real-time multi-platform management, companies using Lync as their UC platform can now achieve true centralized management of quality, performance and capacity across their entire VoIP and Lync UC environment.
 
"ReliaTel for Lync addresses the needs of operations teams requiring visibility into Lync-driven UC quality and service levels. Leveraging ReliaTel's core competency of multi-platform VoIP and UC management, the new 4.1 release delivers not only deep visibility over Lync UC services, but also additional real-time performance dashboards and expanded QoS trending reports for both Avaya and Cisco (News - Alert)," said director of strategic technology for Tone, Amit Kapoor. "[This provides] deeper operational intelligence across the entire communications ecosystem."
 
The enhanced ReliaTel Lync management capabilities are designed to enable service providers to easily expand their service portfolio to offer management services over a broader range of UC technologies - without increasing their operational overhead or service delivery costs.
Combined with ReliaTel's multi-vendor, multi-platform management support, multi-tenant design, and deep VoIP QoS monitoring and analytics, the solution can provide a single, centralized platform for the MSPs.
 
Earlier this year, Tone Software, an Avaya DevConnect (News - Alert) technology partner, announced that its ReliaTel VoIP and UC management solution was declared compliant with Avaya's key messaging solutions.
