Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) has unveiled an Android (News - Alert) mobile application. The latest app from Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide's prize-winning loyalty program will offer associates a custom-designed experience across the nine unique brands of Starwood.

Starwood has been continuously developing unique technology capable of fulfilling the requirements of the current connected international traveler. Android users travelling regularly will find the mobile app ideal.
The program will allow the traveler to uncover and make reservations at 1,100 hotels globally. Travelers will also be offered custom-designed access advantages, the ability to administer their SPG accounts, and contact via incorporated social media.

In a statement, Chris Holdren, SVP of Starwood Preferred Guest said, "We are constantly looking for ways to help members enhance their SPG experience, in and out of their hotel stay. With the introduction of the SPG App for Android, our members around the world have greater access in transit to browse, book and manage their SPG account. As constant connectivity becomes a greater need, mobile devices are becoming the preferred way to book travel, and providing a seamless guest experience is paramount."
The mobile traveler is an important component of the SPG Program with the rise of worldwide requirements. Compared to last year, an increase of nearly 300 percent in mobile booking revenue has been reported by Starwood this year. Apart from fulfilling all the requirements of the associates, the SPG App for Android allows associates to easily browse and make reservations at all of Starwood's nine unique brands, at more than 1,100 hotels and resorts.
Users can also apply the app for local information like weather, directions, in-room dining options and other hotel facilities, while they stay at the hotel. They can also virtually "check-in" to their stay with the help of incorporated social media channels.
These channels allow users to stay in touch with family and friends and connect via the several social media channels of SPG. All the important data related to their SPG profile, like Starpoint balance, upcoming and past stays, can be stored through the app as well.
