Score Revolution Debuts: Connecting Owners and Buyers of Music on a Web Based Platform

Those seeking a share of the pie in the $2.5 billion global music licensing market can now actually do so with ease, thanks to an initiative undertaken by film music industry veterans Ian Hierons, Seth Kaplan and Christine Russell. The trio spun out a new online platform, called, Score Revolution (News - Alert)-basically a new business model that unlocks the film music marketplace and lets music owners easily monetize their music assets within a multi-billion dollar industry.
On Score Revolution's online platform, the film music rights holders come to meet their music licensing customers. The customers are spread across the world and include a broad spectrum of professionals seeking music licenses for different purposes. The customers include advertisers, brands, filmmakers, film trailer houses, music supervisors and other media licensing professionals.

For the film music owners, Score Revolution pioneers a business model that enables them to monetize their music assets while keeping full ownership of their music copy rights. Score Revolution already boasts an expertly curated catalog consisting of 10,000 tracks. The catalogue is fast expanding with more and more rights holders subscribing to the platform.
The platform will allow you to lay your hand on international chart busters that were previously inaccessible. Also included in the catalogue are the award winning scores from acclaimed composers such as Hans Zimmer, Alexandre Desplat, James Horner, Rolfe Kent, Jerry Goldsmith, John Barry, John Debney, Gustavo Santaolalla, Zbigniew Preisner, Maurice Jarre, Mychael Danna, Harry Gregson-Williams, Christopher Young, John Swihart, Alex Heffes, and Abel Korzeniowski.
To the convenience of professionals searching for the right music, the platform incorporates a search engine and filter tools. Also included, are two innovative engines that use music to find music: Explore Search and Upload Search.
The first uses acoustic analysis to find similar tracks within the Score catalog, while the second allows the user to upload their own track to find similar tracks in the Score catalog, using the same acoustic algorithm.
Some of the major media entertainment companies Studio Canal, Lionsgate, Lakeshore, Constantin Film, Cattleya and Voltage, as well as several composers are reportedly interested in the monetizing potentials of this new online music licensing platform.
"The global music licensing market is valued at $2.5 billion and is growing rapidly. Score Revolution provides a unique opportunity for music owners to gain access to a vibrant market that they wouldn't otherwise be able to reach. We partner with rights holders to connect them with commercial opportunities while they maintain the full ownership value of their masters and copyrights," Score Revolution co-founder and CEO Ian Hierons explained in a statement.
"We've created a platform to showcase the world's most consistently brilliant and relevant instrumental music in a format that makes finding it a pleasure and licensing it easy. We also have a great support team backing up the site, able to assist subscribers and suggest high quality scores relevant to their projects," another co-founder Seth Kaplan sums up in the statement.
