PFO has unveiled a unique Pull Plug function which can be used to send an instant alarm message when installed in a mobile phone. The PFO Pull Plug function converts a headset and mobile phone into a discrete alarm. The function will be released as part of the PFO Shield app introduced for phones running on the Android (News - Alert) operating system.

If the user senses danger, they just simply pull out the headset quickly to trigger a sequence of actions to convey an alarm message to chosen contacts. Additionally, the phone's positioning intelligence is activated to safeguard young people who have to travel alone and who are sure to be using a headset connected to their mobile device.
Functions like GPS, Wi-Fi, GSM, gyro and accelerometer will help locate the victim giving precise location which will be transmitted live to the Shield app. PFO's safety system ensures optimum communication with other Shields to determine which contact can bring help quickly.

The Android version of the PFO Shield personal alarm app has added tracking functions to its menu.  Likewise, the PFO Shield app on iPhone (News - Alert) turns the device into a personal alarm. It features four easy-to-use functions using which an alarm message can be sent to most trusted friends (Shields), along with location which is displayed on a map. The location can be viewed only when a user has triggered the alarm.
Boomslang Instruments, the mother company of PFO specializes in developing GPS tracking alarm devices for objects like bicycles and helmets besides also pets. Its patented and innovative PFO One personal alarm bracelet enables tracking.
PFO's designer bracelet with GPS was made available in December 2012 at Heyerdahl in Oslo. Heyerdahl is one of the major jewelers in Norway, dealing mainly with diamonds, pearls, precious jewelry and Swiss watches. Since its launch in the summer 2012, the PFO bracelet, which is the first to combine design with personal safety, has had regular presence in the Swedish fashion scene.
