Have you ever thought to yourself how impressive it would look to have a phone number on your smartphone that made it look like you had offices in London or Singapore? Of course, that would be a very expensive proposition, or would it? Super Technologies (News - Alert) is a company that has been around for 17 years, but over the past 10 years it has made it simple for telecommunications companies to introduce the ability to have additional phone numbers on your smartphone as a value added service. You can watch a full interview conducted by Paula Bernier (News - Alert) with Super Technologies.

Lately, the word "smart" comes up a lot as it relates to the smart communications between devices. Thanks to the Internet of Things (IoT), we are seeing the M2M space develop a lot further than the initial automobile being able to relate information concerning its performance and maintenance options. Verizon was at our recent ITEXPO (News - Alert) East in Miami to discuss how it is working with ecosystem partners to discuss future developments.

You would think that with all of these smart connections that allows for a lot of information to be collected and transmitted through M2M technology that we no longer need the human element. We already have cars that can park themselves and homes that know when to turn various items on and off without the need of a physical human touch. It actually seems that the opposite is true, the role of humans will become even more "mission critical." PLC International is one company which feels that humans are a critical link in pushing M2M ahead.

It seems that it does not take long for people to except technology and then want more. This is possibly no truer than with the idea of faster speeds. As soon as one company finds a way to deliver faster network or wireless speeds, the public clamors for even faster speeds. Alcatel-Lucent is answering the call by launching Alcatel-Lucent (News - Alert) 1-port 400G IP line card for IP networks.
