Engauge Digital Launches Official Tourism Website for the State of Georgia
ATLANTA --(Business Wire)-- Engauge Digital, the Interactive Center of Excellence within the Engauge enterprise that leverages knowledge in human behavior to produce digital design and marketing strategy, announces the launch of ExploreGeorgia.org, a new tourism-focused website for the state of Georgia.
Driving tourism and stimulating the economy of Georgia is a primary initiative for the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD). To support these efforts in a time when an increasing amount of travel planning is being done online, the GDEcD collaborated with Engauge Digital to develop a website that effectively meets the needs of Georgia travelers.

Engauge Digital began by conducting primary research, as well as reviewing data from previous studies, in order to characterize the target audience and reveal information that would help devise features and functionality for the new website. For example, it was discovered that empty nesters represented a large portion of their target audience; as a result, special attention was paid to this group. It was also confirmed that both young people and families are a primary audience. The result of this research is a website designed with an array of features that appeal to many audiences, rather than a single group.
In the end, collaboration of in-state, out-of-state, and international visitors as well as Georgia's tourism partners helped shape the vision of the new website. Key elements of ExploreGeorgia.org include:
-- Travel planner: An interactive way to find activities, save favorites and plan a trip.
-- Faceted Search: A function that narrows results for any search based on selected filtering criteria.
-- Experiences: Getaway themes designed to spark travel ideas, such as At the Beach, Romantic Getaway, and Back to Nature.
-- Dream Pass Integration: The popular rewards card for Georgia attractions is now integrated with the tourism website.
