New Service from Urgent Career Uses Linguistics for Better Job Matching

NEW YORK --(Business Wire)-- Urgent Career today unveiled its groundbreaking service, which applies linguistic analysis to the job matching space. By utilizing linguistic technology to analyze and match sales professionals with compatible roles, Urgent Career seeks to eliminate both unnecessary hiring mistakes for growing companies and poor career choices for sales professionals.

Unfortunately for candidates and companies alike, finding the perfect sales match is daunting, time-consuming, and often hindered by traditional hiring methods. Resumes only tell a portion of the applicant's story and job postings are frequently misleading and incomplete. Because sales success relies so heavily on an individual's ability to communicate and convince, standard hiring methods are often ineffective. In fact, a survey published in the Harvard Business Review reveals that 55% of salespeople are poorly matched (have little or no ability to sell) while another 25% are tolerably matched (have sales ability but are attempting to sell the "wrong" product or service). The same survey found that salespeople whose unique skills were actively matched with the requirements of their position consistently outperformed their unmatched peers.

"The bottom line is that bad matches are disastrous for both candidate and employer," said Urgent Career CEO Jeff Stewart. "Digitally analyzing conversations is a better way to match sales professionals to roles where they will be most successful. A simple conversation contains an astounding amount of information that we can unlock using algorithms in order to better match candidates and clients."

With its new offering, Urgent Career aims to use linguistic technology to address the shortcomings of the traditional sales hiring methods. The matching process begins when a sales professional enters a phone number into Urgent Career's click-to-call website. The candidate is immediately connected with a Career Matchmaker, who guides him or her through a brief phone conversation about career goals, aspirations, preferences, and style.

This phone call is then digitally deconstructed by algorithms that utilize machine learning and pattern recognition to recommend positions which are perfectly matched to the candidate's unique skills and talents. For the candidate, Urgent Career offers a free, confidential, and hassle-free way to find a more compatible job. For the client, Urgent Career offers candidates that are algorithmically matched to the specific necessities of a job requirement.

"Your sales team is your ultimate competitive advantage," said Gerhard Gschwandtner, Founder and Publisher of Selling Power magazine. "Why jeopardize with a bad hire? Any solution that can increase transparency and reduce the reliance on gut feel is a welcome addition to the industry."
