Trace Systems Acquires TCP Network Solutions

MCLEAN, Va. --(Business Wire)-- Trace Systems Inc., a McLean, Virginia based systems integrator and technical services firm that provides comprehensive IT, communications, and other C4ISR services and solutions for the U.S. defense, homeland security, and intelligence community, today announced that it has completed the acquisition of TCP Network Solutions, Inc. (TCPNS), a defense information technology and communications solutions provider based in Eatontown, New Jersey.

"The acquisition of TCPNS is part of our strategy to establish Trace Systems as a contractor of choice within the Department of Defense," said Otto Hoernig III, president and CEO of Trace Systems. "They have established themselves as trusted leaders in the Army communications and IT environment, and we will continue their strong record of support to the Army in OCONUS environments such as Afghanistan as well as their support to several Army Program Managers in the Fort Monmouth and Fort Dix communities. TCPNS has been the architect for many deployed C4 networks, providing its customers with technical leadership and support, including the design, integration and testing of next-generation tactical communications and wireless networking solutions, as well as ongoing IT and networking support for currently deployed military and commercial tactical systems."

Hoernig continued, "We are always looking for companies that have proven past performance, key capabilities and contracts, a strong team, and a dedication to customer mission and success. TCPNS was an obvious match for us. Additional acquisitions will complement TCPNS and will likely be in the $10 to $25 million range."

Under the agreement, the co-founders of TCPNS, Matt Sodano and Jason Borkowsky, will continue as vice presidents of Trace Communications and Professional Network Solutions (TCPNS), Inc., now a wholly owned subsidiary of Trace Systems. Terry Severson, formerly vice president of operations at Trace Systems, will serve as president of TCPNS.

Matt Sodano, now vice president and division manager of TCPNS stated, "Both Jason and I believe that this acquisition will provide the necessary ingredients for TCPNS' continued growth, and will enable us to better serve our customers, while also providing more opportunities for our employees. We're very excited about the new partnership and look forward to continued growth as part of Trace Systems."

Founded in 1999, TCPNS provides end-to-end telecommunications and IT systems and support services in support of CONUS and OCONUS forces. The company is well known for its support as leaders in the development and support of currently deployed and next-generation C4ISR programs. TCPNS supports Army customers such as PM WIN-T, CERDEC, PM C4ISR On-The-Move, PEO C3T Special Programs Office, Northeast Regional Response Center (NRRC), NETCOM, and CJTF-101 in Afghanistan.
